An odd, fascinating novel that has some dated stylistic quirks but is just about weird and strong enough to work Evokes a lovely windswept foggy night timey London of the 30 s, and throws in some Nietzsche and some unexpected narrative twists I enjoyed reading an author that is kind of a forgotten bestseller of his day, really fun and interesting and totally a product of that mental between the wars era.
